"TRUST"

The hurtful words
Flood the room.
But tonight,
They were seen one by one.
They passed me
Not even trying to strike a key.
I sat back in contemplation
of the meanings they all possessed.
No sharp tongue in hand,
No beating of the breast.

I understood their meanings
And opened up to a change.
I released all the resentfulness
And admitted all the pain.

Our talk was long and winded.
Our hurt was real
But safe.
The tears flowed freely,
Even though they did not
Streak our face.

Our hearts can now hear
The cries that were silently released.
And start the long road ahead,
Of the mending
And the peace.

Though all the trials and tribulations
Are far from the end.
I know together we can break through
The darkness and see the rainbows ahead.

Our judgment might get clouded.
Our fears may try to play.
But I know in my heart
The truth will come out
And our love,
Will show us the way.
