"ESCAPING THE FLAMES"

In the picture
you had stopped falling.

But in reality
you had died long before
I ever saw your freeze frame.

I'm thankful
that I didn't see your life end.

It's sad enough
to know that someone fell
hundreds of feet

to their death.

Maybe you jumped
to escape the flames
that comsumed all living flesh.

By jumping
you escaped the flames.

May you RIP.
