"IT TOOK FOREVER"

For me to realize
she was no longer there.

As I laid my head
a million times
I had to look
even though I knew she left

long ago.

It's been many years
since I convinced myself
that she had gone.

Since then
I've changed positions

so I can be
where she used to be.
