"TIME IN A BOX"

I haven't opened
this box of memories
for many years.

Because they were
much too vivid.

But enough time has passed
that the years
have lessened their hold.

I can now pick and choose
and realise that the memories
are not as frightening
as they once were.

Now I can say
it is good

to have memories.
